PWJA Region 3 - Damayan ang Kababaihan Outreach Program

      The Philippine Women Judges Association (Region 3) in partnership with the Kababaihang Manananggol ng Bulacan spearheaded the joint outreach program for  the women of Bahay Kalinga in Sta. Maria, Bulacan last December 16, 2019. 

      The PWJA and KMB's "Damayan ang Kababaihan"  was a reflection of its aim to reach out for neglected and abandoned elders and to give them a joyful event in time for the Christmas season.

OUTREACH PROGRAM IN CAPUL, NORTHERN SAMAR

On December 2, 2019, the island Municipality of Capul, Northern Samar was badly hit by Typhoon Tisoy.  More than 500 houses were totally damaged, an estimated 80% damage in agriculture was noted and there were no communication lines and electricity in the entire island. Immediately, cry for help were raised especially that the municipality, being an island, cannot easily be reached for relief operations.

Good fortune came in hordes for those whose names were drawn by lot by PWJA President,  Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe to attend the 41ST ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN JUDGES at Los Angeles, California from October 15-19, 2019, under the auspices of the United States Embassy.  Forty three participants from 19 countries benefited from this benevolent gesture of the US State Department’s INL Program.
