Extension of Physical Closure of Courts
GUIDELINES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FOUR-DAY WORKWEEK IN THE FIRST AND SECOND LEVEL COURTS DURING THE PERIOD OF STATE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC
PWJA President Senior Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Kaiser International Healthgroup, Inc. on November 16, 2020 at the Dignitaries’ Lounge, Supreme Court, Ermita, Manila, to provide voluntary health coverage to its members and their dependents. Present as witnesses were the co-Chaipersons of the PWJA Health Committee, Judge Rosalyn M. Loja (Regional Director - NCJR 1) and Judge Sheryll D. Tulabing (Deputy Regional Director - NCJR 1).
The Philippine Women Judges Association (PWJA) is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of its dedicated members. Judge Maria Teresa Abadilla, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Manila, Branch 45, was known to her colleagues as kind, straightforward and competent. While her death in the line of duty, sadly in the hands of her own clerk of court, has left us painfully wounded and has gravely shaken the entire Judiciary, it reinforces our resolve to prioritize the well-being and security of our judges and court personnel even in the midst of this global pandemic.
